CLINICAL INTERESTS
A comprehensive approach to heart health.
From preventive cardiology to coronary interventions, and from diagnosis to long-term follow-up, care is planned around scientific evidence, individual needs and shared decision-making with patients.
Coronary artery disease and interventions
Assessment with coronary CT angiography and invasive coronary angiography; coronary interventions for acute and chronic coronary artery disease, treatment of chronic total occlusions (CTO) and complex coronary lesions, and follow-up after procedures.
Preventive cardiology
Assessment of cardiovascular risk; management of high blood pressure (hypertension) and elevated blood lipids (hyperlipidemia), ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, lifestyle changes and individualised follow-up.
Echocardiography and heart valve disease
Assessment with cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography); evaluation of heart structure, function and valve disease, treatment planning and follow-up.
Heart failure
Diagnosis of heart failure, individualised treatment planning and regular follow-up; evaluation of symptoms, heart function and response to treatment together.
Heart rhythm disorders and fainting
Diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmias); ECG and portable heart rhythm recording (Holter monitoring), tilt-table testing for fainting, and planning of further assessment when needed.
Vascular and peripheral artery disease
Cardiological assessment, risk factor management and treatment follow-up for vascular disease, particularly disease of the arteries supplying areas outside the heart, such as the legs (peripheral artery disease).
CONSULTATION AND FOLLOW-UP
Together, step by step.
Preparing for your appointment
Having your previous medical information ready helps make the consultation more productive.
Bring any previous blood test, ECG and imaging results, along with hospital discharge summaries.
Make a note of your medications and doses, and any medication allergies.
Bring your home blood pressure and pulse records.
Note when your symptoms began, when they occur and the questions you would like to ask.
What does the assessment involve?
Listening and examination
Symptoms, medical history and medications are reviewed together, followed by a cardiovascular examination.
Tests based on your needs
Tests are planned according to examination findings and the clinical question being addressed. Unnecessary procedures and tests are avoided.
Shared decision-making
Findings and treatment options are explained in clear language; expected benefits, potential risks and individual preferences are considered together.
Treatment and follow-up
The treatment plan, lifestyle advice and follow-up schedule are tailored to individual needs.
